Nobody hacks you.
They talk you into it.

A one-hour workshop for people who use their phone every day and were never shown how scammers try to fool them. No jargon: just the house, the keys and whoever rings the doorbell.

Doors scams come through, and how to close them

Who it is for

Built for adults 30 and up who use WhatsApp, online banking and email, and who are today's favourite target for scams.

Families

Parents, grandparents and children looking out for each other. They leave with a family safe word agreed that same night.

Unions and associations

Union branches, civil associations, co-ops and neighbourhood committees. One session for the whole membership, in your own hall.

Community groups

Parent associations, day centres, clubs and municipal programmes. The pace and the type size are matched to the group.

What they take home

  1. 01

Nobody hacks you: they talk you into it. Attackers study people, not computers.

  2. 02

The five doors scams come through, and the tell-tale sign for each one.

  3. 03

One rule that solves almost everything: hang up, breathe, call them yourself.

  4. 04

And a hand-written card by the phone or on the fridge: the rule, what a bank never asks for and the numbers to report to.

The 60-minute outline

Every block ends with questions. The examples are real messages, calls and emails recreated on screen.

  1. 0 to 12 min

Fundamentals, without a single technical word

Your account is the door, your password the key and your phone the keyring. What they want from you and why you are a target.

  2. 12 to 14 min

    Questions

Is it safe to store passwords on my phone? Is a fingerprint safer? How often should I change my password?

  3. 14 to 30 min

    The five doors

The email with a logo, the call from 'the bank', the parcel text, the link or QR with a surprise inside and someone else's Wi-Fi. A recreated screen and one sign for each. Ends with questions.

  4. 30 to 49 min

How they win you over: social engineering

The four buttons they press (urgency, authority, fear, affection), the seven most common scams in Mexico and the live 'real or fake?' exercise. Ends with the longest Q&A block.

  5. 49 to 55 min

    Defence kit

Five habits that take twelve minutes in total, and what to do in the first hour if you already fell for it, step by step.

  6. 55 to 60 min

    Wrap-up and open questions

The three ideas to take home, the card each person writes for their own house and time for the group's own stories.

After the session

Certificate of attendance

It arrives as a PDF at the address each person writes on the attendance sheet, in their name, with the workshop, its length, the date and the standard it is designed against.

It is a certificate of attendance: it records that the person was in the session. It is not a competency certificate or a certification.

To issue them we ask the organiser for a simple list with each attendee's name. It is used only to produce the certificates and is destroyed as soon as they are sent.

How they are designed

Our workshops are designed against CONOCER competency standard EC0217.01 (delivery of in-person group training): clear objectives, a teaching sequence, exercises and a check on what was learned. They are not certified courses; they are workshops built following that standard.

Questions about the workshop

Do attendees really not need to know anything about computers?

Nothing at all. Everything is explained with the house, the keys and whoever rings the doorbell. The only three technical words in the workshop (password, two-step verification and update) each get their own analogy.

How many people can attend?

The published price covers up to 20 people, the size at which questions work well. Larger groups are quoted over WhatsApp.

Can it be at our hall, a school or a home?

Yes. All it takes is a screen or projector and a room where questions can be heard. In person in and around Xalapa; elsewhere, over video call.

What do attendees take home?

Three ideas, a card they write themselves to stick by the phone, and their certificate of attendance, which arrives as a PDF at the address they leave that day. And a family safe word, if they agree on one that night.

Can you adapt it to my group?

Yes. There are versions for over-60s, for community groups and for parents of teenagers, and we match the examples to your group if you tell us beforehand. If what you need is the version for the staff of a company or a public agency, that's the second workshop.

What data do you need for the certificates?

Only two things: each attendee's name, in a simple list from the organiser, and the email each person writes on the attendance sheet on the day. Nothing else. That is what we use to produce and send the PDFs, and the lists are destroyed as soon as the emails go out: we do not keep them or use them for anything else.
